Stallion Wisdom - Part 5 - The New Saying

This was the old saying:

Tell a Gelding
Ask a Mare
Discuss it with a Stallion

My new saying:

Love a Gelding
Cherish a Mare
Respect a Stallion

I think mine will work for you much better.  What about you?  Will you be using my new saying?

Some Stallion Wisdom - Part 4 - Discuss It With a Stallion

Discuss it with a Stallion.

I think that the reasoning behind this part of the saying is that you can't or shouldn't tell a stallion what to do.

I would agree with that - just try using a crop on my rump and see what that gets you!

I like for my rider to listen and be quiet.  Don't be squeezing and jabbing my sides, jerking me in the mouth, or popping me with that whip. Less is more with a stallion.

I am a very sensitive guy and I can feel every move you make, hear your breathe and heart beat, and smell your emotions.  That's what stallions are supposed to do - watch, listen, and smell for the protection of the herd.

I usually know what you want before you ask.  But if I don't understand - I know your intent and will try to please.  I want adoration, appreciation, courtesy, and consideration - don't you?

Respect a Stallion.

Next week will be the last post in this series of Stallion Wisdom.  Let me know how you like it so far in the comments below.

Some Stallion Wisdom - Part 3 - Ask a Mare

Ask a mare.

I should hope so! And do it really nice, and say "please" and "thank you".

A mare usually lets you know just what she thinks about everything. She knows what she wants and what she doesn't want, and she will always let you know her opinion. If she doesn't think you are listening she will sometimes just ignore you, if you push and make her angry know that she does not make empty threats - something will happen - and it will probably not be good.  If she says "no" - try another way - little things can make all the difference.

Details are important to a mare, so if you are going to be asking her for something, you need to pay close attention. When she sees that you are listening and giving her the respect she deserves, she will be willing to listen and pay attention to you. And when you get that from her - she gives it 100%. A mare will form really strong bonds with those she trusts and respects. It is truly a relationship to treasure.

Cherish a Mare.

Some Stallion Wisdom - Part 2 - Tell a Gelding

Tell a Gelding.

This must be based on an assumption that the lack of hormones in a gelding means he has no feelings or opinion and does not care how he is treated.

Assume - ass / u / me....know a gelding that proved that clever word true?

Your gelding may be able to focus better and listen longer, but no horse likes to be treated with a lack of respect. He's letting you ride him - be grateful and show him some courtesy.  He will respond in kind.

Love a Gelding.

Some Stallion Wisdom - Part 1

I've been hearing people say this a lot lately:

Tell a gelding
Ask a mare
Discuss it with a stallion

Humans like to put things in groups and make judgements about the group instead of just seeing each thing individually. This is sad because it prevents them from finding the truth.

What do you think? Talk to me below.
Stay tuned because I am going to have my say about each one soon.
